Hey guys we are back!
Now instead of the top morning routine to help get your day started like in our last blog post, we are coming at you with the best ways to end your day and make sure the following day is productive.
The routine that we create in the evening is just as important as the one we create in the morning, just it's at the opposite end of our day.
In this post we will cover the importance of the evening routine, the best practices to put in your evening routine as well as what my routine is to end the day. this will help you learn as well as be able to execute ASAP with real life examples because we don't have time to waste!
The Importance of Having A Powerful Routine At Night
Just like how our morning routine sets us up for the most powerful day, the routine we have at night helps us finish up our day and prepare for the next day.
When we set up a night routine that allows us to reflect then we are able to see what went well and what didn't go well each and every day so we know what to focus on the next day. If we don't do this the our success will just plateau and we will never get closer to our goals because we are not pushing forward.
Another great thing that the routine at night is good for is to reflect on where you are, where you have come from and where you are going because it is much quieter and more peaceful at night.
By having this routine at night we can have a close to our day before we go to sleep and know that we are able to wake up and know exactly what needs to happen in order to get closer to our goals.
When we know what needs to happen in the morning then we won't wake up confused and have to hurry to plan our day in the morning.
Be ready and be confident in the next day with a powerful morning routine. That is why we believe they are so powerful!
The Best Practices For A Routine At Night
Here we go, the meat of this post what is in a good night time routine?
First, off it should be the last few things you do as you start to wind down for the night after getting the work done for the day. It will help you be mentally focused not only on the upcoming day, but also focused on our visions and goals.
The main part of the night time routine should be winding down the thoughts on that day, what went well/ didn't go well and how to improve upon it in the coming days. Go over business, life and health aspects and see where we fell short to improve upon them the next time. Because once you lose the momentum, it is 10x harder to gain it back than it would have been to keep it.
The next aspect of a night routine should be preparing for the next day and figuring out a list of what needs to happen tomorrow in order to get one step closer to your goals tomorrow. A great wy to do this is by starting with the year goals and hat you have to do month by month to get there and then week by week and finally day by day.Working backwards is a lifesaver :)
Just like in our morning routine, we have to feed our minds before we go to bed. This is done through learning either with books, podcasts or online articles. As we are winding down for the day we are able to clear our minds and that soaks in information a little easier.
The final part of a successful evening routine would be our visualization. This is very powerful in the evening because it is dark and easier to clear our minds. The key that we have found to the best visualization was to go over not only our goals but how we would want an average day in our dream life to look like.
We learned this technique from Andy Frisella and it involves visualizing our ideal day, but in such detail that it feels real. Andy describes his ideal day visualizing him driving up to a jet in a Lamborghini and being able to feel the steering wheel and the chrome on the stairs to the jet and then feeling himself lifting his foot up each step into the private jet.
The key to this visualization strategy to to use all senses, not just seeing but feeling, smelling, etc. This is the strategy that we have found to work best for us.
Our Evening Routine
Finally, here it is.. our routine that we put to good use each and every evening.
The first thing we start off with is learning because our mind is still awake and when we start with this it is not going to get pushed off the plate. In the evening, we focus on learning about our niche rather than listening to podcasts or reading (we will try to read in the evening a few times a week though). We listen to podcasts throughout the day such as the MFCEO Project so we use the evening to focus on our niche and researching tools for all of our success!
From there we go onto create our power list for the day which is essentially our top five things that we have to do in order to get closer to our goals that day. This was another evening technique that we learned from Andy Frisella and it is the top five things that aren't already habits, but rather new things that have to get done in order to achieve our goals. We create this list and make sure everything gets done before the end of the day in order to force us towards our goals. We highly suggest trying it out :)
After that we go over what went well and what didn't go well that day so we can improve on it the next as well as start going over our goals.
For going over our goals we use the technique above where we work backwards starting at a year and eventually getting to day by day things that need to happen. It is super powerful, definitely try it out!
Finally, we visualize using the Andy Frisella technique with all of our senses. This has been hands down the most effective thing that has helped us both in the morning and the evening as it makes it feel like we are already living the dream life and make the visions that much more real!
Well there you all have it, our nightly routine as well as some of the best things to put in your routine...
Try some of them out and tell us what works for you. What is working for us might not work for you and vise versa, so let us kno what is working for you. We would love to hear it!
Thanks again for another great week guys and hesitate to ask any questions or start putting this to use.
