A quick update for day 30 of documenting my journey on social media! Uno month in and loving the process, changing my habits and learning so much abut myself and business it is crazy.
Insane how much your life can change when you dedicate yourself to something and refuse to live in your past like I was!
Had the day off from my labor job so really had all day after the gym this morning to get a decent amount of client work done and do more research for my services.
Didn't get to as much content posting as I would have liked to but got some up on Snapchat and Instagram on all of my pages as well as created the weeks content for one of my biggest clients which I was pumped I could get done in one day!
Other than a food break here and other and some mental breaks where I have been reading or watching YouTube videos to learn more, I have pretty much been at the computer all day, which I didn't mind at all.
About to read some more and then focus on engagement in the community for a few hours until I got to bed and rest for the night!
I'll get to the being authentic in business lesson next!
Authenticity in Business
Just caught a quick lesson in one of the YouTube videos I watched today by a filmmaker named Dan Mace where he talked about how authenticity is what people can actually relate to online.
A ton of people are out there posting highlights of their lives on social media in hopes that other people will like it. You see all these "relationship goals" videos and posts that he talks about where it looks like these people are living a perfect life and we are comparing our lives to this and feeling bad about our situation.
Instead, he talks about realizing that that is just highlights of someones life and an "artists take on someone's day" and how we shouldn't compare because each situation is unique.
The part where he jumps into authenticity is really where we can get some good business lessons. His whole goal is to become the most authentic filmmaker on YouTube. This is because when e shares his content authentically and not just filming the best part of his days, it allows us to connect and realize that he is just like us.
Much like we can do on social media, rather than coming from a position where we are above everyone, start creating captions and telling stories that show you are right there struggling in some aspect in life just like anyone else out there.
This will change your game on social media, I will bet money on it:)
Thanks again for the huge amount of support guys and I will catch you tomorrow with some more lessons, updates and hopefully some good news!

Day 29 of this documented journey of social media.
It is day 29 that I have documented on this journey that has been going on since I was in middle school hustling on eBay, and I am still learning so much about running a business as I have landed a new client today as well as I have ;earned a ton through a couple of podcasts at the gym today!
So, here are some social media and business hacks and lessons that I learned today...
Just a quick overview of the day before I jump into things! Is tarted the day out doing a little but of client work in the morning before heading to work where I set up graduation parties an events as a summer job to have some more income on the side.
The power of this job is that it has taught me things about machines (since it is also a rental company) and labor that I would not have learned otherwise. It pushes me outside my comfort zone daily and that is where I need to be in order to learn.
Also, this job has shown me what I don't want my life to end up like, trading hours of my life for money and not leverage my money to work for me. It has given me new motivation and for anyone looking for some motivation, I would highly recommend a labor intensive job.
You will be tired when you get home and go to work on your passions but it teaches you to push through many mental barriers!
After work, I went to the gym where I listened to the majority of my podcasts for the day (other than the drive to and from work) and learned a ton which I will go over!
After that I got home and create some posts for clients and went to work on the services I am creating help make social media easier, more efficient and more effective for YOU!
Ended the night hanging with friends for a while (key to have a balanced life at least a few days a week) and then reading and learning when I got back home!
Let's start off with some of these business lessons that I learned, there were two main lessons I learned and took away from the podcasts today and those were using curiosity in marketing and learning not to live in the past.
For using curiosity in your marketing, I learned that leaving out the thing you want people to ask about, like the name of your program or the podcasts you are listening to, you will spark their curiosity and they will want to know and go out of their way to ask!
This works really well for people in network marketing or affiliate marketing because if you talk about all the benefits and how much the product, program, service etc has helped you but don't give the name, people will be naturally curious and want to ask! Then they can't just go search the product online, not using your link.
The living in the past is not so much a business lesson but a life lessons that I have struggled with in the past. The podcast I was listening to was talking abut how people live in the past and bring up situations in their mind to make them feel a certain way because that is what is comfortable.
They feel like they need to keep that bad job or live in the same area so they can have the same bad emotions.
Real change doesn't come until you control your thoughts and understand why you are thinking the way you are and start to change your routine, living less in the past and move towards the future.
I struggled with this in the past with relationships and eventually moved past it but never knew how to put it into words until now!
Social Media Lessons
There were two major social media lessons as well, one being taken from the curiosity lesson from above, and one being totally new and based around content to be posting which is actually super helpful!
Taken from the curiosity lesson above, this can directly translate into the captions of your posts. If you are telling a story or sharing how something has helped you, don't mention exactly what it is in your caption or post and people will naturally ask about it.
Or, if you are trying to sell a product or service in a post/ ad, don't say exactly what it is, rather just talk about the benefits so people who actually want to learn more will click or engage on your profile and not just go on google and type it in!
The other lesson was based around how light or how heavy your content is. Heavy content is the more informational, conversational, controversial or deeper topics that you talk about on your account while light content is focused on easy questions, your interests or just simple posts!
The key here is to "sprinkle in" a light piece of content with every few heavy pieces just to keep it simple and fun and show another side of your personality that is't as serious every time!
Thank you so much for another day of support from you guys! I know this is going up int he morning but fell asleep reading last night so didn't get to post it!
Talk to you all later today/ tomorrow!

Day 29 of This Social Media Journey
Just another day on the grind loving the journey.
Crazy thing though, just updated my Instagram and they had a new feature called Instagram TV which I though was interesting so I played around with it for a while and really thought it could be powerful for marketing.
It allows you to see "shows" people put up which are just longer versions of their videos and watch them like TV shows.
This allows you to create a documentary and vlog type content or create a professional looking "show" and attract even more attention to your account.
The only concern I have at the moment is if they have enough attention on Instagram TV, are enough people using it to make it worth your while? Would love to see you drop a comment below if you are or are not using Instagram TV and why!
What I Focused on Today
The focus today was on prioritizing my time and doing the most important things first. So, starting when I got up, I did just that.
I moved onto client work right when I got up before going to the gym and got a good amount done and went to the gym.
Then I came back to start working on the services and now I am enjoying some free time for engaging on social media, writing this blog and learning through some books I am reading!
First few days doing this and I can already tell a huge difference in both the results I am getting and how productive I am being.
If you do these things first it makes sure you get them done and if you need to push anything off to tomorrow it can be a smaller task item and not something important.
And for anyone wondering, just copped a new book that I am starting tonight called Astrophysics for people in a hurry by Neil DeGrasse Tyson., I'll let ya know how it is!
What I Learned Today
Pretty much went over my main takeaways from today above in my focus for today as I learned the power of doing the important things first.
I made sure the important things got done earlier in the day and I didn't keep pushing them off like I have done in the past and the results show this works very well.
I ended up landing three new clients for helping market on social media actually and I'm very pumped about that opportunity to create a simpler, quicker and smarter solution to social media for them!
Just gonna throw this section in here because I can as the gym and health has been a huge part of my journey thing year, getting in the best mental and physical shape I can be in for the year.
Was leg day at the gym today and killed the workout with some new max out on squats and stuck with the diet today as I have been doing really well lately.
Two things I need to focus on more in this area is both my late night eating as it is not on the 10 hour time frame I eat in as well as the food I eat late night seems to be worse then during the day and that is an easy fix.
The second thing being trying to figure out how to get over this plateau I have in the gym and get some new personal bests. Any ideas on how to do this? Drop a comment below.
Going Into The Weekend
Going into the weekend I am going to have a heavy focus on content on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram and producing as much high quality pieces as I can for each account.
This increase in content is going to increase the page views and content views on social media and help me be able to start split testing, growing and landing more sales!
Thanks again for sticking around for another day of my daily updates and I hope to see you back tomorrow as I go over how the increased content is helping me out!
Have a great night,

The Month of June...
Well, I am back! Interesting fricken month here in June and I kinda fell off the train of documenting as I started to get lost again and lost motivation.
I was out here looking for motivation from outside things and that was not helping at all as when I wasn't motivated I would sit around and watch YouTube and waste a ton of time, not being productive at all.
I would think about what I need to be doing but not actually do it (remember guys thinking is not getting you closer to your goals until you start taking actions on the thoughts).
So, there I was sitting around the 20-25 day mark on the month with not much social growth because I wasn't posting a ton and not much accomplishment this summer and just thinking "fuck."
I was still going to the gym and eating really good and reading when I could find the time, so I had those things going for me but other than that the month had not gone as planned.
I'm not sure about what it was about the one podcast or that one day but somewhere around the 20-25 day mark of June 2018, I was in the gym working out and listening to a podcast when this burst of energy just came through me and opened up my mind to what needed to be done.
I realized I needed to change, not just for a little bit but totally change my habits because those are what were driving me day in and day out and I had some shitty habits that were wasting time and not helping me get any results.
It wasn't motivation I was looking for or needing it was a change of habits that would propel me through the day more successfully.
It was also something about that one day and one Gary Vee Podcast I was listening to that made me realize the true value of time, how much I was wasting and how that was hurting me.
Sometimes you hear something a thousand times but then you hear it one more time and that is the time it really hits home and you fully understand what they are talking about, opening up your mind to a new world!
What I Have Been Focused on
Since then, the past few days have been devoted to first getting my time managed each day and not wasting any, deleting some apps I was wasting time on like Netflix, as well as starting to work on my business, getting more clients and shifting my focus to enjoying the process rather than just being pissed when something doesn't work the next day.
Since then, in just a few days I have landed three new clients that I am helping create, curate and manage their social media profiles as well as started working on services I am going to offer that make social media easier, more effective and quicker for businesses!
I also have started to document the journey again on Instagram and Twitter (@profitingtools for both) and I am going to start up these daily lessons, reports and what I am doing on social media each day to help you guys see what is and isn't working lately!
It is crazy what you can get done in a day when you have no distractions, and it feels way better than getting the immediate enjoyment from YouTube or Netflix but then feeling like shit after because you didn't get anything done!
The plan moving forward in the larger picture of things is going to be to focus on the journey, the long term and love the GAME more not just the rewards.
I have been focused on the game more in the past 3 days then ever before an I have just landed a few new clients each day, More than I have in a month of work before!
You actually start to get the best results when you don't focus on the results directly but the actions needed to take to get to those results ad then enjoy the journey to get there rather than going out and pushing, NOT GIVING, and getting nothing in return.
I am also starting to focus more on time management, if I have some down time do something productive rather than just watch YouTube and go down a rabbit hole of watching hours of videos.
I am redefining my habits one day at a time and a mindset I found to really help me get things done and see results (in business and life) was if I started to think I really don't want to do something then that should be the driving force to make me want to do it even more.
So, whenever I was thinking I don't want to do something I started doing it and it actually changed my life.
In terms of business, this month is going to be heavy in the realms of content creating, working with and growing my client base as well as getting my products out to help make social media just a little easier and more effective!
Thanks for the support as always fam and talk to you all tomorrow, or I guess tonight as it is 1am now haha

Day dos documenting this social media journey! How is everyone doing?
Drop a comment below if you tried different posting time like I mentioned in last post!
I tried out the different posting times on all of my accounts with varying results, but overall learned a lot about optimal times of the day, haven't yet looked into days yet though that will be soon.
I'm going to show you guys the results I got and then go into what I am focused on for the next few days!
Yesterday's Results for Post Timing
Alright, so The times I was testing were the lunch hour as well as the earlier morning hours (6am).
My thinking behind these two times was that I more people are likely to be on their social media accounts and scrolling through their feeds when they are on real from work at lunch as well as right when people get up in the morning.
I found that the lunch hour didn't work as well as the earlier hour, but it still had good results. So far on this journey I have found that the earlier the better as well as the later the better.
In between times such as 10-11am and 4-6 or 7 pm have not shown high engagement for me so far!
So here are the results, account by account:
6am: 64 likes/ 10 comments, 89 likes 5 comments
12pm: 48 likes/ 59 views/ 7 comments, 60 likes 10 comments
6am: 394 likes/ 5 comments, 479 likes 6 comments
12pm: 235 likes/ 14 comments, 443 likes 4 comments
6am: 129 likes/ 7 comments, 211 likes/ 4 comments
12pm: 152 likes/ 3 comments
6am: 233 likes/ 3 comments, 201 likes/ 4 comments
12pm: 140 likes/ 2 comments, 368 likes/ 5 comments
Lesson From Post Timing
The lessons that I have learned for post timing are pretty much that the "optimal posting times" for Instagram that you read about online are really good times to post, but there are other great times as well!
Just think about when you are on social media, such as the beginning and end of the day as well as maybe for lunch, and those are good times to try posting.
I found that the 6am and noon posting times worked very well when used right, there isn't as much room to miss the time though because the closer to 7 I got the engagement went down. Also, the closer to 1-2 I got the engagement was a little lower as well.
I would say that the 6am and noon posting times, maybe even a little before each time, are great to try on your page if you are available to post around those times!
The Focus for the Next Few Days
The focus for the next few days is going to be engagement.
When I say engagement, I am talking about commenting and liking posts from larger accounts in the niche as well as on recent posts and top posts in hashtags in the niche!
When I am commenting I am going to be leaving genuine comments, not like "Nice Post" because I have already found those types of comments are a waste of time and don't help you grow!
I will be trying this for a few hours each day to see both growth in followers and post engagement and documenting it all for my @profitingtools account.
Why I Am Focusing on Engagement
I am focusing on this because this is how social media was meant to be used and that is how I am assuming we will grow the best.
Not trying to "hack" the algorithm or anything, just joining the community and conversation and getting my voice hear/ creating relationships within my niche!
I have actually been trying this for a while and has helped me grow a ton, so I can't wait to document and show you guys the power of this strategy!
Drop a comment below if you are going to try this strategy as well or if you are already trying this strategy, I would love to see how it is working for you guys!

Hey guys, new part of the website here where I am going to be documenting my journey on social media. This includes what I am doing day in ad day out on my own accounts as well as some insights on my work with clients, strategies and more that I am testing on social media.
This is going to be a great way to see what myself and others are testing in real time and what is and isn't working on social media on a day by day basis so you know where to leverage your resources, time and money!
Hopefully you find value in this as I am going to be making daily updates on numbers and everything! Feel free to do the same and email me any results you have, strategies or tips for me to try out or just show me what is working for you. I would love to connect with you guys!
The Main Focus
Alright, the first day was mostly focused on more consistent content on the profiles as well as posting times throughout the day.
This was actually a two day process so I am posting this a day late because of the testing took a littler longer.
I started off posting at the "common knowledge" optimal posting times which are 8-9am and 5am eastern time on Instagram each day.
Then the real focus was going to be to trying some different times, such as around the lunch hour, to see how they compared to the "optimal posting times."
The mindset behind this was that if everyone was posting at the optimal posting times, then the posts would get drowned out in all the other posts an not reach as many people.
If I posted them at different optimal times that would allow me to have a post that lasted longer and gained more traction then I would at the more "busy times" on Instagram.
To Implement this, I used my 4 accounts @profitingtools, @entrepreneur_motion, @wealthyunion and @rules2riches and posted the first day at the optimal times listed above on all of the accounts.
Then, on the second day I posted at more "slow" times that included 12pm, 8pm and 6am.
I chose these times because at 12pm, people would be on lunch if they were working jobs and more likely to be scrolling on social media. At 8pm, people are more likely to be at home and done with dinner/ chilling so that would be another time they are likely on social media. Finally, 6am I tried because many people check social right away in the morning when they wake up.
Results/ Take Aways
The results and takeaways I am going to put at the beginning of every blog post for the next day. So, the results from the previous days test will be in the next days blog because obviously the day is not done and you can't fully test and get results in a day.
So, you can look forward to these tests results in tomorrows post, as well as what I am working on for the next few days to test!
I hope you guys enjoy these new blogs about my social media and business journey! Would love to hear any questions, opinions and ideas in the comments below!
