Day 29 of this documented journey of social media.
It is day 29 that I have documented on this journey that has been going on since I was in middle school hustling on eBay, and I am still learning so much about running a business as I have landed a new client today as well as I have ;earned a ton through a couple of podcasts at the gym today!
So, here are some social media and business hacks and lessons that I learned today...
Just a quick overview of the day before I jump into things! Is tarted the day out doing a little but of client work in the morning before heading to work where I set up graduation parties an events as a summer job to have some more income on the side.
The power of this job is that it has taught me things about machines (since it is also a rental company) and labor that I would not have learned otherwise. It pushes me outside my comfort zone daily and that is where I need to be in order to learn.
Also, this job has shown me what I don't want my life to end up like, trading hours of my life for money and not leverage my money to work for me. It has given me new motivation and for anyone looking for some motivation, I would highly recommend a labor intensive job.
You will be tired when you get home and go to work on your passions but it teaches you to push through many mental barriers!
After work, I went to the gym where I listened to the majority of my podcasts for the day (other than the drive to and from work) and learned a ton which I will go over!
After that I got home and create some posts for clients and went to work on the services I am creating help make social media easier, more efficient and more effective for YOU!
Ended the night hanging with friends for a while (key to have a balanced life at least a few days a week) and then reading and learning when I got back home!
Let's start off with some of these business lessons that I learned, there were two main lessons I learned and took away from the podcasts today and those were using curiosity in marketing and learning not to live in the past.
For using curiosity in your marketing, I learned that leaving out the thing you want people to ask about, like the name of your program or the podcasts you are listening to, you will spark their curiosity and they will want to know and go out of their way to ask!
This works really well for people in network marketing or affiliate marketing because if you talk about all the benefits and how much the product, program, service etc has helped you but don't give the name, people will be naturally curious and want to ask! Then they can't just go search the product online, not using your link.
The living in the past is not so much a business lesson but a life lessons that I have struggled with in the past. The podcast I was listening to was talking abut how people live in the past and bring up situations in their mind to make them feel a certain way because that is what is comfortable.
They feel like they need to keep that bad job or live in the same area so they can have the same bad emotions.
Real change doesn't come until you control your thoughts and understand why you are thinking the way you are and start to change your routine, living less in the past and move towards the future.
I struggled with this in the past with relationships and eventually moved past it but never knew how to put it into words until now!
Social Media Lessons
There were two major social media lessons as well, one being taken from the curiosity lesson from above, and one being totally new and based around content to be posting which is actually super helpful!
Taken from the curiosity lesson above, this can directly translate into the captions of your posts. If you are telling a story or sharing how something has helped you, don't mention exactly what it is in your caption or post and people will naturally ask about it.
Or, if you are trying to sell a product or service in a post/ ad, don't say exactly what it is, rather just talk about the benefits so people who actually want to learn more will click or engage on your profile and not just go on google and type it in!
The other lesson was based around how light or how heavy your content is. Heavy content is the more informational, conversational, controversial or deeper topics that you talk about on your account while light content is focused on easy questions, your interests or just simple posts!
The key here is to "sprinkle in" a light piece of content with every few heavy pieces just to keep it simple and fun and show another side of your personality that is't as serious every time!
Thank you so much for another day of support from you guys! I know this is going up int he morning but fell asleep reading last night so didn't get to post it!
Talk to you all later today/ tomorrow!
